Define the buyer’s real question
Record the markings fitted to the identified car and price a complete replacement plan; appearance alone cannot establish suitability or remaining service life.
Record destination, intended registration, steering side, daily and long-distance route, passengers, luggage, charging access, accepted powertrain, new or used condition, budget and delivery point. A changed candidate or destination reopens affected checks.
Apply the model-specific test
Read all four tyre sidewalls and wheel markings, not a listing summary. Record size, load and speed ratings, date codes, tread pattern, repairs, pressure, sensor warnings, rim damage and alignment evidence, then confirm that equivalent replacements are practical in the destination.
Use tyre evidence with the suspension, steering and bearing route.
Official context: Review the current Changan UNI-Z product page and match it to the selected vehicle.
Evidence specific to this decision
Record four-corner sidewall markings, tread, repairs, wheel runout or damage, alignment clues, pressures and TPMS status under stated conditions.
Read every tyre and wheel as a separate component
Record the complete sidewall size, load index, speed symbol, manufacturer, pattern and date code at all four corners. Add tread depth across the inner, centre and outer bands, visible repairs, cuts, bulges and pressure measured under stated conditions. Matching dimensions do not prove matching construction or service life, and a polished sidewall can hide age or damage.
Inspect rim edges, barrels and mounting areas for impact, cracking, welds or distortion. Uneven wear can point to pressure, alignment, suspension or prior-impact questions, so connect the tyre record to a road test and underbody inspection. Confirm the fitted wheel and tyre combination against vehicle-specific information; do not borrow a pressure or rating from a different UNI-Z version.
| Cost item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Tyres | Equivalent size, ratings, availability and complete-set price |
| Wheels | Correct fit, repairability and replacement lead time |
| TPMS | Warning status, sensor response and local service path |
| Alignment | Measurements, cause of wear and correction responsibility |
Price safe replacement before shipping
Long storage, inland movement and sea transport do not improve marginal tyres. If replacement is needed, decide whether correct components and sensor service are more reliable before export or at destination, then include disposal, fitting, balancing and alignment. Photograph pressures, warnings and visible condition at carrier handover. A tyre that is legal in one market may still be inappropriate for the destination’s climate, load or rules.
Keep one VIN across the file
Destination ownership needs workshop skill, diagnostics, consumables, tyres, glass, body parts, software and account planning. Do not assume China-market connected services or warranty transfer overseas.
Preserve original-language records beside translations. Connect photos, diagnostic output, charging or road tests, inspection, quotation and contract to the same VIN. Conflicts stop approval until resolved at source.
| Evidence | What to record |
|---|---|
| Identity | VIN, production plate, legal model, powertrain and version |
| Condition | Dated physical checks, history, diagnostics and test results |
| Compatibility | Destination consequence, limitation and responsible reviewer |
| Commercial | Seller, beneficiary, included work, validity and delivery term |
Destination support
Prepare a version-specific list of tyres, brakes, filters, fluids, coolant, 12V battery, glass, lamps, body panels and diagnostics. iDD adds battery cooling.
Ask a workshop what it can diagnose and source. Do not make core operation dependent on unverified app binding or China network services.
Test an ordinary day and an adverse day
Use realistic passengers, luggage, weather, speed, gradients, traffic and energy availability. For iDD, include a failed charger and battery reserve. For gasoline, include local fuel, emissions and workshop constraints. A specification is context, not a guarantee of suitability.
Mark each conclusion green, amber or red with evidence date and owner. Amber needs a priced consequence or condition; red stops payment. Do not turn missing proof into a positive feature claim.
Preserve the approved vehicle to delivery
Carry VIN, version, condition and included work through quotation, contract, invoice, export records and loading media. Record odometer, fuel or charge state, keys, cables, accessories, faults and exterior condition at handover.
China-side work cannot promise destination tax, conformity, registration, charging access, software services, warranty, insurance or future reliability. Refresh local advice if vehicle, route or rules change.
Request a VIN-linked UNI-Z proposalDocuments that keep this decision usable
Create a candidate summary naming the VIN, production date, legal model, powertrain, version, odometer and seller. Attach original identity records, continuous dated media, inspection findings, diagnostic output, road-test notes and charging results where applicable. Each conclusion should identify its source, test condition, limitation, reviewer and expiry point.
Keep the commercial file separate but connected: dated quotation, included and excluded work, inspection conditions, contract entity, bank beneficiary, export responsibility, carrier acceptance and delivery boundary. The destination file records tax or duty advice, conformity, registration, insurance, energy access and workshop support. A changed input reopens the affected decision while preserving the audit trail.
Before loading, compare the approved summary with the physical vehicle and final documents. Record keys, cables, accessories, odometer, fuel or battery state, warnings and visible condition. This final comparison helps prevent a correct inspection being attached to the wrong car.
Buyer questions
What should be recorded on UNI-Z tyres and wheels?
Record all four sidewall markings, date codes, tread, repairs, pressure, rim condition, wear pattern and TPMS status.
Can one good tyre represent the full set?
No. Each corner can have a different age, repair, wear pattern or rating and must be inspected separately.
Should tyres be replaced before export?
Decide from condition, destination rules, correct-part availability and full fitted cost; include balancing, alignment and TPMS service.
